In partnership with Westover, Calvary will be collecting hats, scarves and gloves for children at the Newcomers School here in Greensboro. The Newcomers School is for children in grades 5-12 who have recently arrived to the United States and who often do not have adequate clothing to face our winters. All items will be collected in the lobby until Sunday, December 19th.

Women of Calvary, grab your roommate and let’s go to the beach! The 2011 retreat will be May 13-15. If you are certain that you are going, please make a $25 deposit before the end of this month. Because we have to let the resort know in early January, how many rooms we will be responsible for, if you cannot commit to pay the full amount, please do not make a deposit at this time. Registration forms are in the lobby.

The church office will be closed Thursday and Friday, Dec. 23-24 in observance of Christmas.

All women are invited out for our January monthly Bible study, Friday, January 14th at 6:30. Bring your favorite dish as we study the Bible and discuss what’s in store for the ministry in 2011. If you are coming please sign up via the bulletin and include what food item you will bring.

On Sunday, January 9th at 4:00 we will be with Truth and Spirit Worship Center of the Triad, as they install their pastor, Reggie King.

Our Installation of Officers Service will be on Sunday, Jan. 23rd at 4:00. Invited guests are pastor Corey Graves and the White Oak Grove Baptist Church family.

On Sunday, February 13th, at 3:00, we will travel to Beulah Baptist Church. The pastor is Jerry Wilson.

Calling all young men, ages 6 and up! If you are interested in becoming involved in the Mime Ministry, please come out on Saturday mornings from 8:45-10:30. Contact Irene Sharpe or LaToya Marcus for more information.

The Youth Choir rehearses each Saturday at 10:00. All 6-12 grade students are encouraged to come out.

Any men who are members and would like to play on the basketball team can register in the lobby. The cost is $40.

On Friday, December 17th, the youth will be working with the CARE ministry to pack Christmas baskets and wrap angel tree gifts. Food and fun will follow immediately afterwards. Cost for the evening will be $10. Please sign up and pay in the lobby.
